Ladies' Bible Study |
Calling all Lady BUGs (Ladies Better Understanding God)...come to the garden for a 13-week, in-depth study. We've saved a spot just for you.
Through this study we will seek to better understand God by learning life lessons from "trail blazers" in the Word who have gone on before us like Moses, Mary (the original Lady BUG), David, and Mary Magdalene. This Bible study is all about encouragement for YOUR heart.
The study will be offered on both Tuesday morning and Wednesday nights. We will stroll down Lady BUG trails and discover that Truth is Good Food. By the end of this journey, we will all be Lady BUGs Living the Lyrics and Loving the Lord.
Come join us beginning Tuesday, September 9, at 9:45am for our first class which will be lead by the author, Denell Dennis. Class will be followed by a luncheon. Denell will also join us on Wednesday night, September 10, at 7:30pm in room 204. Childcare is provided on Tuesday mornings and Bible classes are available for all ages on Wednesday nights.
Ladies, make plans to come be part of this important journey.
Any questions? Contact the church office or Melinda Golden at 703-435-2929.

| Potential Family Life Center |
FXCC is considering establishing a Family Life Center. We would appreciate any and all ideas about what the congregation would like to see included as part of this center. Please contact Gary Cobb with ideas or preferences at gdcobbva@aol.com. We would especially value feedback from members who have attended churches that have had an active family life center.

| Using the Building? |
So many people like to just "pop-in" to have a quick meeting at our building or have a group get-together. Please, please, please call the church office to schedule any meeting - however brief it may be - that you would like to have in our building. We try desperately to accommodate, but want to make sure the room you come to occupy has not already been booked for another group.

| Sports Bottles Needed |
We are collecting reusable sports bottles for the Lamb Center from September 14 through October 19 at the Service Station in Kingdom Corner. As you are cleaning out your cabinets and find that clutter of sports bottles that your kids have collected from various events and camps or you have received from various promotional companies, give them a good washing and bring them in so they can be used at the Lamb Center. The Lamb Center is a day center for the homeless near Pickett Road and 50 in Fairfax.

| Help With Parking |
Another service opportunity available to do with your family, your small group or just by yourself would be to park at the hospital and ride the shuttle. Our parking lot is packed on Sunday mornings and some of our members who are not as able have been struggling to find parking - even on the street!! Many of us who are able could come a few minutes earlier, drop our family off if necessary, and park at the hospital. What a simple way to show your love for your brothers and sisters!

Parking at FXCC During the Week |
| If you stop in at FXCC during the week, make sure to park in the spots directly outside the main office doors that are marked "Church Parking Only". In trying to be God's heart to our community, Fair Oaks Hospital staff will be parking in our lot on weekdays while their new parking garage is being constructed. Thank you for your consideration.

| Security for Our FXCC Building |
With our new security system, usually only one door will be unlocked if there is only one activity in the building. Please check another door if the one you are at is not open. Check the light in the small box between the doors; IF IT IS RED – THE DOOR IS LOCKED. Please do not pull and pull to make the security system determine a break-in. The police will be notified. Thanks so much for your cooperation and respect of the new system.
