Outreach & Coordination Minister Search

A: The search committee has been advertising the Outreach and Coordination Minister position for about two months and is still collecting applications for the position. The committee intends to begin initial Skype interviews with top applicants in early April. After these initial interviews, the committee will recommend that the elders invite certain candidates to personally meet with the congregation and its leadership.
Q: When is Bruce’s last Sunday as Pulpit Minister and will the new minister be in place by that time?
A: Bruce’s last Sunday as Senior Minister is on June 23rd. The search committee is working diligently to recommend a candidate to the elders in time for the new minister to be in place before Bruce’s departure; however, the elders and search committee are focused primarily on permitting the Spirit to guide this process and will not hire a new minister primarily for the sake of having a new minister on board before Bruce’s departure.
Q: I see that we’re searching for an Outreach and Coordination Minister; would this person play a different role than Bruce current plays?
A: Yes. The search committee, upon instructions from the elders, is searching for a minister that will lead our Outreach Committee, coordinate the staff and the church’s ministries, and preach as part of a rotational preaching structure. The new minister will not serve as a Pulpit or Senior Minister.
Q: Who will be a part of the rotational preaching structure?
A: The exact makeup of the rotational preaching structure is to be determined. The elders envision that the Outreach and Coordination Minister will preach, but that we will also harness the preaching abilities of other staff and/or members of the congregation as required.
Q: What can I do to support the search process?
A: There are two major things that you can do to support the search process. First, please petition God to cover this search process and the search committee with His wisdom and truth. Second, please contact anyone that you know that would either be a good fit for the position or who might know someone that is a good fit.
