Student Ministry News
Note from Phil

Hey guys!

Hope all of you are having a great week so far! Thanks to everyone who came out and helped with our first mobile V.B.S. last week. It went amazing, thanks to y’all!! We had 27 kids that were registered, and 42 volunteers from church. We are definitely seeing changes in the kids, and building great relationships with not only the kids, but their parents too. This Wednesday we’ll be prepping for the July 8 and July 22 V.B.S. So if you can make it, please come tonight. Also, if you haven’t signed up yet, it’s NOT too late! Just let us know tonight what you would like to help with. Following church, we’ll be having our second W.O.W. MESSY GAMES! Hope to see you tonight (July 1) at 7:30 for our prep night! Have a great day!

Chantilly Mews Mobile VBS - We Need You!

Currently, we are in need of lots of "hands and feet" to help at the Chantilly Mews Mobile VBS sessions.  Student Ministry and CollegePLUS have stepped up to the plate; we really need ADULTS!  The only pre-requisite needed is a love of God's Word and a loving caring heart for those He created.  The skits and puppet scripts are already written for you to perform.  The current areas to serve are as follows:

  • Crafters -  physically doing the craft with the children
  • Skit - practice and perform a skit for the children
  • Puppeteers - practice and perform a puppet show for the children
  • Set Up / Clean Up - set tables and the tent up ahead of time; take them down and return to the FXCC building when finished
  • Registration - work at the table to register each child attending
"People of Presence" - individuals to interact with children and   guide the teams from one activity to the next
  • Monitors - more or less "body guards" to keep the children safe and within the boundaries
  • Snacks - assemble and distribute snacks at the end of program
  • Games - guide the children and monitor planned games

Please pray for this new development, as well as for those involved in the problems in Honduras.

About the Student Ministry

The Fairfax Student Ministry exists to Transform the Lives of Students for the Service of the Savior.  We consist of 7th - 12th graders excited about serving God and one another through different programs and activities throughout the year.  We place a strong focus on building relationships with each other through our Impact Teams (small groups), and our Spring and Fall Retreats serve as open doors for friends.  It is our belief that through service to God and to others we can make a difference in our church, community and beyond.
