Blood Drives

Members of the Fairfax church of Christ, in conjunction with INOVA health services, schedule blood drives about four times per year. The blood drives usually are scheduled for Sundays at the church building (see map)and both members and visitors are welcome to sign up for donating blood at the church office during normal church business hours or on Sunday mornings. You must be at least 18 years old and have a photo ID with you at the time of the donation. For more information, please contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Food Ministries

Feed-A-Family Food Program
Each Spring, the FXCC servant ministries partners with the local organization "Our Daily Bread" to provide grocery food cards to needy families. We typically assist about 30 families with this ministry. You can help by purchasing food cards in amounts up to $50.00 and drop them at the church office, or mail them to the church and mark the envelope "Feed a Family" program.

Holiday Food Drive
The FXCC servant ministries works with Western Fairfax Christian Ministries at both the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays to provide dinner ingredients to needy families in Fairfax County. Food is purchased and delivered the weekend before each holiday by a FXCC small group, family or individual. If you are interested in helping in this way, please send an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

FXCC Food Pantry
We have a food pantry at the church building that is available to needy individuals or families within our church and in our community.  We accept canned, non-perishable food items. Western Fairfax Christian Ministries Food Pantry and Thrift Store
Members of our church also volunteer at the Western Fairfax Christian Ministries (www.waysmeans.org) food pantry and thrift store at Route 50 and Centreville Road in Chantilly, VA. Help is needed stocking shelves, bagging groceries, and greeting clients in the food pantry. WFCM also needs volunteers to sort clothing, stock the store, and work with customers in the thrift store. Help is needed throughout the week and on Saturday and hours are flexible. If you're interested in participating, please contact WFCM directly or email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Children's Ministries

School Backpacks
Every August we ask church members to purchase and donate new school backpacks for children in Fairfax County schools who cannot afford to buy their own. Schools submit their requests through Western Fairfax Christian Ministries and WFCM relies on its faith-based community to help these children out. Bins are placed near the church office for collecting the backpacks. If you would like to help with this effort, or if you need further information, please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Backpack Food Drive
Forty children at an area elementary school have been identified as being at risk for having little or no food at home on the weekends.  Fairfax Church of Christ is part of a pilot program to provide food to these children each Friday during the school year.  Food drives are held approximately every three months and food is packaged up by our J-Team teenagers.  If you would like to purchase food or donate food cards or money, please email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. A Child's Joy
A Child's Joy (www.achildsjoy.org) is a non-profit organization that provides filled Christmas stockings to children in need.   While many of these stockings are delivered to children in Fairfax County, stockings have been sent as far away as Texas. In 2007, 700 stockings were donated to five different organizations and churches.  If you’d like to help by sewing Christmas stockings, shopping for small toys, or serving on one of the many available committees, please contact Denise Manahan or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Missions Support

There are several service opportunities associated with our local and distant mission efforts.

Gifts of Grace
Our church sends hundreds of individual boxes of gifts to children in the impoverished nations of Haiti and the Dominican Republic once a year. The servant ministries team works in conjunction with our Children's ministry and our Distant Outreach ministry on this project. Donations of small toys and books, combs or brushes, basic toiletries (small sizes only) and hard candies are collected during our annual Vacation Bible School (VBS) in the summer, and boxes are assembled, wrapped, and mailed by early November. We also need $5.00 donations to help defray the cost of shipping for these boxed gifts. If you are interested in helping, please contact our Children's minister This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Dominican Republic Mission supplies
The Fairfax Church of Christ began supporting missionaries in the Dominican Republic in 2000 and every year members from our church take hundreds of bags of toiletries with them as part of our mission trips to that country. The items needed include: small brush or comb, travel-sized shampoo and conditioner, deoderant, bar soap, washcloths, travel-sized toothpaste, and toothbrushes. We begin collecting items for these toiletry kits in the Spring each year. In addition, the missionaries also need small Spanish-language books and other reading materials/games for the orphanage they administer.
