WHO Anyone who has experienced, or is currently involved in, a divorce or the loss of a significant love relationship; and, who is attempting to recover from their pain and disappointment in order to regain balance and move on with their lives.

WHAT A free, volunteer-facilitated, confidential support group in a safe, non-judgmental and religion-neutral environment for those affected by divorce or the loss of a significant relationship. This support group provides a framework within which participants are encouraged to review their loss, evaluate where they currently are, and develop a set of tools to regain balance in their lives with the ultimate goal of enjoying their life to the fullest following their divorce or loss. The program’s volunteer facilitators have also experienced the pain of divorce and have dedicated themselves to helping others regain balance in their own lives.

WHY Unfortunately, divorce is pervasive within our culture and affects many families within our community. Irrespective of the circumstances affecting the decision to divorce, many individuals feel incapable of rebuilding their lives without assistance; but, because of possible social, cultural, religious, or professional disapproval, they feel as if they have no place to turn to for help. The Fairfax Church of Christ provides our community a safe and non-judgmental way for persons experiencing the pain of divorce to meet in a confidential environment to gain the courage to begin the journey of rebuilding their lives. Participants are invited to attend any of our worship services but are under no obligation to do so. Further, our pastoral staff is always available to any group member desiring to discuss personal or religious matters.

WHEN / WHERE / HOW The Divorce Recovery Support Group meets on Monday evenings, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Fairfax Church of Christ, 3901 Rugby Road, Fairfax, VA 22033. The office phone number is: (703) 631-2100. Click here for driving directions and a map.
