Fairfax Church of Christ

God's Heart to This Community

Window on CollegePlus

Our group went to Sunrise Assisted Living and delivered treats instead of collecting them :-).  Everyone had a great time, and the residents were very receptive.  This may have to become an annual thing!

This was our young singles trip to Harrisonburg,VA. We had a great time visiting with the students at JMU, and touring downtown Harrisonburg. We also visited a really fun corn maze.  Click the image for more photos.

WHO ARE WE?

We are a group of college and newly graduated young adults who are looking to develop our spiritual maturity in order to be God's heart to the community.

When you are a college student, it is easy to get lost in the shuffle.

Many churches have strong youth groups and strong young adult groups and have difficulty creating a strong group of college students.

The Fairfax CollegePLUS ministry is here to give you a place to belong, and more importantly, a place to share God¹s love with others.

We understand that an individual must first understand his or her role as one of God¹s children before he or she can be prepared to share the gospel.

Whether you have an extensive church background, or you are simply looking for a circle of friends, the CollegePLUS ministry is here to provide whatever you need.

WHAT DO WE DO?

  • We have a bible class on Sunday mornings that combines the college and young professional demographics.  The age range is about 18-36, and provides a great opportunity for mentorship.
  • We have a book discussion group that meets on Saturday mornings at 10AM.  This group is comprised of college age students, and the book we are studying is Letters From a Skeptic.  This book is about a father and son who write each other about their personal beliefs and is apologetic in nature.
  • We are active participants in our community.  We have an English as a Second Language class that meets on Wednesday nights and we assist with an after school program for Chantilly Mews, one of the neighborhoods nearby.  We are looking to be more involved with Chantilly Mews and other surrounding neighborhoods by having clothing drives, parenting classes, and other offerings for adults and children.
  • We also have a thriving worship ministry for those who enjoy the arts.  Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   for more information.
