Prayer is, and should be, part of every Christian's life. It is how we communicate with God - giving Him praise and thanksgiving, as well as confessing our sins. Many verses mention prayer:
If you remain in me and my Words remain in you, ask whatever you wish and it will be given you. - John 15:7-8
Always be joyful. Keep on praying. No matter what happens, always be thankful, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. - 1 Thessalonian 5:16:18
Joyful: Rejoice Always!
Praying: Pray without ceasing and maintain the good habit of frequent prayers.
Thankful: In everything, give thanks. We should be thankful in every condition.
Through prayer we know God and become rooted in Him. - Ephesians 3:14-21
"I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." - John 14:13-14
"To pray in the name of Jesus" means to pray in the character and nature of Jesus.
According to Romans 8:34, Jesus is at the right hand of God interceding for us, so, as we pray in His name, our prayers are passed on to the Father.
